Ahlein Fikon BBQ!

The BBQ event was made to welcome students back to in-person university and to introduce the Arabic grilled food to students in Montreal. ASN did this event in 2021, it helped students connect together and meet new people that are McGill and non-McGill students.

Run4Refugees

Run4Refugees was an event done to help raise awareness for refugees. The ASA made this event in the year of 2015. This event gave students the opportunity to run 5 kilometers in order to support the refugees in Canada and worldwide.

Ski Trip

The team fully organized a Ski Trip as a chance for the students to experience the fun side of Canada's winter season. This was also an opportunity to meet new people, explore different locations around Montreal, and hopefully come out of the trip with life lasting memories, valuable friendships, and maybe a new hobby!

ASA Photography Competition

In 2013, ASA (now known as ASN) organized a competition open to the McGill community to showcase Arab culture and heritage through the art of photography. Submissions portrayed the beauty of the Arab world from different perspectives, outlining the dichotomy between old traditions and modernization in our communities.

Halloween Games Night

The Syrian Student Association (SSA) joined ASN in hosting a Halloween Games Night. Students got the chance to join our teams to enjoy themselves and make connections. The joint event allows students to participate in Arab board game competitions that reminded them of home such as Tawle, Ghamze and even ended up dancing the Dabke!

Manakish Giveaway

As a way to show our appreciation to the McGill student body and to promote ASN’s goals and values as a SSMU service, our team helped by the General Members hosted a giveaway in which we offered students free mana2eesh.

Arab Fest 2018

The ASN organizes an Arab Fest every year to represent and honor the Arab culture and traditions. The event gathered Arab and non-Arab students in Montreal and allowed them to immerse in an authentic Arabic experience. The students wore traditional clothing, sang to traditional Arabic music, and danced together. They also got a chance to socialize and get to know each other.

Networking Event

The ASN organized a Networking Event in 2021, which was an invaluable opportunity for students. We provide students the chance to connect with professionals to maximize their connections to elevate their career aspirations.

Ice Skating Event

ASN provided free ice skating tickets to students in Montreal. The ice skating event took place in old port, on February 2022. The event helped students socialize with each other and meet new people.
